If You Are a Californian, Have You Voted Yet?

If you haven't, please go vote on the propositions and all the other fun stuff on the ballot. Please. Pretty please. Here's a good rundown on all the info you need to vote. It took me like 30 seconds to vote on everything. That's shorter than the amount of time you will spend complaining if something you don't like passes.

Besides, it's Malcolm X's birthday, and he would've wanted you to vote. So if you won't do it for me, do it for him.

Yup, I voted. Bright and early before work. How do you feel about the election results?

Didn't know yesterday was Malcolm X's b'day - ironic, because C and I spent the morning watching and discussing "X" (his crazy block schedule doesn't have him in school on Tuesdays and Thursdays). C's doing a project on Malcolm X right now and is seeped in Hailey's book, a wonderful "reader", etc.

Catcher,
Well... now everybody's saying a bazillion MORE teachers are gonna get fired. I don't know what to think. All I know is it probably means I'm gonna have to sit in more meetings with that heffa. Not looking forward to it.

Jen,
No class on Tues/Thurs? Goodness, sounds like college.

I can't wait till my sons are old enough to read his autobiography. It's such a great book.

Pooneh,
Only 17% turnout. UGH!

I voted through the mail. As for my family members not so much...

It's a bit like college - it's an alternative public school that's been around since the late 60s and still gives the students a fair amount of freedom - the ability to take classes at the local universities/community colleges, do internships, special independent studies, etc. You get in via lottery and we were just darned lucky. Here's the website if you're interested:
