16 Things On The Eve of Great Things

Can someone please clone me? Or at least come clean my house for me. In fact, if you're looking for a National Day of Service project for tomorrow, trust me, coming to clean my house could be considered an option.

Actually, doesn't Depeche Mode look like they want to come hang out and clean with me?

What? You don't think so?

In any case, the lovely Ingrid tagged me with a meme. That's perfect because I need a break from dusting and rearranging closets.

Here's the instructions: Once you've been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 16 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 16 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you. If I tagged you, it's because I want to know more about you.

16 things and TAGGING 16 people? Okay, here goes?

1) I used to try to smoke bubble gum cigarettes. As in, I'd light them with a match and try to smoke them.

2) I've never eaten SPAM and I don't understand how anyone could eat it and actually enjoy it.

3) I'm trying to be even healthier in 2009 so I'm tracking everything I eat and drink as well as how much I exercise on a site called SparkPeople. I've discovered that I tend to eat salty foods and I don't drink as much water (I'm not counting tea) as I think I do.

4) I was classified as a gifted and talented child and I skipped first grade.

5) I'm counting down the days till April 21st because that's when Depeche Mode releases their new record, "Sounds of the Universe". That said, I think their new web site is one of the worst looking and least informative sites I've seen. I think someone should fire the imbecile who came up with the unappealing design.

6) Speaking of pictures, I decided that this year I'm taking a picture of myself and my family at least once a week. I don't know what I'm going to do with them yet. Maybe make a scrapbook.

7) Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person NOT sitting around my house in their underwear. Is this a guy thing?

8) I have a lot of house plants. There are 10 pots in my living room alone. It's like a mini jungle in here.

9) I have very dry skin except on my face. I have a stockpile of creams and lotions to combat this BUT my favorite thing is to slather olive oil all over myself and just sit for five minutes or so before taking a shower or bath. It really helps.

10) The palms of my hands are very deeply lined. I think this is a gift from my Dad.

11) I prefer mustard mixed with black pepper on my fries instead of ketchup.

12) I only wear silver jewelry.

13) I regularly have a recurring dream that I've been having since I was about eight years old. It's not a good dream. I wish I could make it go away.

14) When I was in high school I wanted to be rich enough to have a penthouse in Chicago's Lake Point Towers.

15) I regularly fall asleep listening to some form of techno/electronica/trance/house music.

16) When I was 12, I sprained my ankle falling down the front stairs at my parents house. I was running so that I wouldn't miss the very beginning of Miami Vice.

So that is 16 things! And now I need to think of 16 people to tag... uh, um... I tag you!

Seriously though, let me know if you decide to tackle this meme. I'd love to know a little more about you.

Liz number 16 cracked me up! Did you love Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas that much?

oh I don't sit in my underwear all day either. There is a building belonging to the Vatican across the street, I don't need to show them my stuff. ha

NYC/CR,
Yes, I just couldn't miss that beginning theme song. It was SO painful and in the end, I missed that entire episode! And LOL about the building across the street. Nope, you don't want to reveal anything to a man of the cloth! :)

Great list. Number 2 just be glad. I remember my grandma would give us spam weekly. That, cotto salami and ground turkey. The turkey was okay buit the spam and salami. Blech!

I don't sit in my underwear all day now. I did find that much easier when my son was first born though...

I don't sit in my underwear, although there are days that my sweats seem to be the fashion choice of the day.

I always loved those towers in Chicago, too.

I'm sorry about your dream. I don't have that, but I have a current motif that I'd like to get rid of - giant cockroaches. (Yeah, you can tell I grew up in NYC).

I used to have a recurrign dream that I was engaged to Paul Newman. Maybe you could switch to that one instead.

Dry skin, me, too. Vaseline. I'm not kidding.
I too prefer mustard (on everything, not just fries). However, I cannot keep a plant alive - even if someone were to threaten me with a picture of a nekkie George W. Ew.

Dreams can be quite telling, especially the recurring ones. I interpret them for friends, so if you want, just send it to me. (If you want to keep it private, cool. Just offering.)
