I do think some of it my be generational. Some of the younger Black parents are a lot more permissive than I'll every be. I'm a lot like you and I can control my kids with a look. I'm also not into to hitting my kids, but I have hit the booty on a few occaisons when the kids were younger. What it comes down to is parents need to parent and not rely on somone else to do their job.
