She's stereotyping YOU by saying your last name automatically makes you Jewish. That's dumb. AND, you should absolutely be able to be proud of your heritage no matter who you're around. Imagine what the world could look like in a few hundred years if people intermarried/had babies regardless of race or ethnic background? I wish I could travel to the future and see what everyone looks like then.
